Magdalena Łągiewska, PhD new Acting Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Gdańsk
We are pleased to announce that from 17 March 2021 the Confucius Institute at the University of Gdańsk will be headed by Magdalena Łągiewska, PhD (Department of Public International Law). M. Łągiewska is a Dean’s Plenipotentiary for Cooperation with China, a Research Associate in the research grant "China, Law and Development" financed by the European Research Council (ERC) at the University of Oxford. She has two doctorates - the first was awarded by the Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk in 2017 (PhD dissertation entitled "The Notion of Rights in the Legal System of the People's Republic of China"). The second, also in the field of legal sciences - by the East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai in 2020 (PhD thesis entitled “The Effectiveness of the Arbitration Agreement under Chinese and Polish Law: A Comparative Study” written in Chinese). Łągiewska, PhD completed an internship at the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SHIAC). She holds a master's degree in international economic relations from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk (specialization: international finance and banking) and she was awarded scholarships from Shanghai International Studies University (Belt and Road Countries Project) and China Youth University for Political Sciences in Beijing.

Magdalena Łągiewska (麦迪) 博士现任格但斯克孔子学院代理院长
我们高兴地宣布，自2021年3月17日起，Magdalena Łągiewska 麦迪博士(法律与行政学院国际关法系)担任格但斯克大学孔子学院代理院长。Łągiewska 博士是牛津大学副研究员（“中国、法律与发展”项目），也是格但斯克大学法律与行政学院院长代表 （负责与中国合作）。她获得两个博士学位，2017年格但斯克大学法律与行政学院学术委员会授予其第一个法学博士学位， （其博士论文题目为《中华人民共和国法律体系中的权利概念》）。Łągiewska博士于2020年获得上海华东政法大学第二个法学博士学位（博士论文用中文文写成，题目为《中国与波兰关于国际商事仲裁协议效力的比较研究》 。Łągiewska博士曾在上海国际经济贸易仲裁委员会（SHIAC）实习。她在格但斯克大学经济学院攻读了国际经济关系硕士 （专业：国际金融和银行），并曾获得过上海外国语大学（“一带一路”项目）和北京中国青年政治学院奖学金。
