CIELSP Curriculum
-
Rules for choosing courses. The list below includes six Comparative International and European Legal Studies Programme modules: Modules 1, 2 and 3 are offered only in the winter semester, and Modules 4, 5 and 6 are offered only in the spring semester. You are requested to choose at least 2 Modules (out of 3) each semester. There is no possibility of picking up selected courses; you may select only the whole module containing 4 courses.
-
Transcript of Records. At the end of your mobility, you will receive a Transcript of Records listing all the chosen courses and your performance in terms of ECTS marks (A, B, C, D, E or F) and credits scored for each course. ECTS will be granted to Erasmus students as stated in the table below (Erasmus ECTS, 6 ECTS for leading lectures and 3 ECTS for other courses). Transcripts are issued at least 4 weeks after the end of a given semester.
-
Certificate (additional). It is possible to obtain an additional certificate for completing the Comparative International Legal Studies Programme issued and signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration. To be awarded the CIELSP Certificate, the student needs to score at least 30 ECTS in a semester or 60 ECTS in case of mobility covering both semesters. Obtaining the Certificate requires also completing the leading lecture (6 ECTS) in each of the modules chosen in the respective semester.
-
Exams. Each module's leading lecture (CIELSP101, CIELSP201, CIELSP301, CIELSP401, CIELSP501, CIELSP601) ends with a full written exam. Other courses may award ECTS based on a written assignment, an individual project with oral presentation, an open-book essay, a student's class performance etc. Still, the complete written exam is not mandatory nor guaranteed for these courses.
-
Language requirements. All the courses listed below within the CIELSP programme are offered entirely in English, including any written or oral assignments expected to be completed individually by the student. The minimum level of English fluency is B1; however, at least B2 is strongly recommended.
-
Reservations on choosing the modules. The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration may decide that any of the Modules will not open in a given academic year due to the number of interested students below a certain number set by the University's policies. Students choosing the cancelled module may be reassigned to other modules in such a case.
